Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 18, 2026

This privacy policy covers gestaltprinciples.com ("we," "us," or "the site"). It explains what information is collected when you visit, how it's used, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us at privacy@lgtm.design.

The short version

  • We collect basic analytics data to understand how the site is used. There are no accounts, signups, or comment systems.
  • The site is supported by advertising served through Mediavine, which uses cookies and similar technologies to show ads. You control this through the consent banner.
  • Some links on the site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you make a purchase — at no extra cost to you.
  • You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information at any time.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly. If you email us, we'll have your email address and whatever you include in your message. That's it — the site has no accounts, logins, newsletter, or comment system.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we use analytics and advertising tools that automatically collect certain information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, and general (city-level) location. This happens through:

  • Google Analytics 4, which helps us understand site traffic and which content is useful.
  • Grow by Mediavine, an engagement tool that supports the site's advertising and lets you optionally bookmark or interact with content.
  • Cookies and similar technologies used by our advertising partners, described below.

Advertising

This site uses Mediavine to manage the display advertising that keeps it free to read. Mediavine and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure their performance, and — where you've consented — personalize them.

[PASTE MEDIAVINE'S REQUIRED DISCLOSURE HERE.]

Mediavine provides specific advertising-partner disclosure language that publishers are required to include. You'll find the current version in your Mediavine Dashboard / Help Center (search "privacy policy disclosure"). Paste it in full in this section and update it if Mediavine notifies you of changes.

Cookies and your choices

When you first visit from a region that requires consent for targeted advertising, you'll see a consent banner where you can accept, decline, or customize how cookies are used. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time using the [Privacy Preferences / Change Consent] link in the site footer.

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer.

Affiliate links

Some articles include affiliate links to products and services we recommend, such as books and online courses. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This never affects which resources we recommend.

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you can contact us at privacy@lgtm.design to:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or delete it
  • Object to or restrict how your information is used

For data collected by our advertising partners, the fastest route is the consent banner and the opt-out link described above, since that information is held by those partners rather than by us. We'll respond to any request within 30 days.

Data retention and security

The site keeps very little. Emails you send us stay in our inbox until deleted, and analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings. We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Links to other sites

Articles link to third-party websites, including affiliate partners. Their privacy practices are their own — we encourage you to review their policies.

Visitors outside the United States

The site is operated from the United States, and information collected through it is processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your region. Where required, the consent banner obtains your permission before advertising data is collected.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means the updated policy applies.
